North Yorkshire Moors Railway
Take a heritage steam or diesel train from Pickering to the seaside town of Whitby on our ‘Seaside Special’ service or start your journey from Whitby and travel to the market town of Pickering on our ‘Yorkshire Express’ service. Both of these return services, with set departure and return times and reserved seating, travel the whole 24 mile length of our line through the North York Moors National Park.
For those looking for a shorter journey, our ‘Moors Explorer’ services run daily between Pickering and Grosmont, calling at Levisham, Newtondale Halt (by request), Goathland and Grosmont stations.
Take a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway this season, with beautifully looked after period style stations, cosy and inviting Tea Rooms, Peter's Railway Young Engineers Centre, Gift Shops and more.

Malton Monthly food Market is one of Yorkshire’s most renowned food markets running on the second Saturday of every month from April through to the two day Malton Christmas Market in December.
Popular with all those who care about where their food is sourced, the market is loved by foodie visitors, chefs and keen amateur cooks alike.
Set in and around the Milton Rooms and located in Malton's central Market Place, the market trades from 9am to 3pm. Free entry to the market.

Join Santa and his special team of elves at either Pickering or Grosmont Station before a magical adventure aboard the Santa Express which will take you on a festive journey you won’t forget!
This enchanting Christmas experience sees Mr. Claus and his jolly helpers pass through the heritage carriages, giving children a chance to meet the legendary man himself on board the train, and gifting special presents to the children onboard - providing they’ve managed to keep themselves off the naughty list this year!

York’s favourite festive event, Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland, offers a magical winter experience for all ages, with an outdoor ice rink, vintage funfair, Santa's Grotto and The Chalet alpine cafe.
Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland is free to enter, with separate tickets required for skating at The Ice Factor and for Santa's Grotto. Tokens for the funfair rides can be purchased on site. The Ice Factor is the North of England’s largest outdoor ice rink, with 975 sq m of real ice and a 30ft high sparkling Christmas tree as its centrepiece. Surrounded by illuminated trees, log cabins, the rinkside cafe and a viewing platform, this magical setting makes for the perfect festive experience for all ages.
