The cottage was very well equipped and very clean. Everything worked and the layout and equipment were really well thought-out. It was ideal in terms of location. A very good base for touring the North York Moors and surrounding coast and countryside. Ideal also for dog owners with a secure garden.

Our 2nd stay at Lavender Cottage with our fur babies.
It's in a perfect location as only a very short walk into town and a supermarket.
10 minutes drive to Dalby Forest and great that there is a free parking pass in the cottage for guests. And if you fancy a drive to the coast Whitby is only 21 miles Filey is 22 miles or there is Scarborough too. 12 miles away is the beautiful town of Helmsley which we stopped off at on our way home.

The Cottage has everything you will need, very warm and cosy too. Great enclosed garden for our fur babies to have a play. Even thought the cottage is on a main road it is quiet of an evening.

We would highly recommend and we will be making a return.

The cottage is in an ideal location in Pickering, a very short walk to the centre, yet just far enough away to be nice and quiet at night.
Inside it was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed with some lovely touches to make us feel welcome.
Rooms are a modest size but this is a characterful old cottage so it's what you should expect. Everything worked, shower is good, TV great, WiFi no problems.
The garden was a real bonus, very private and peaceful and a perfect outdoor space for our little dog.
Free parking across the road out the front was very convenient and never struggled to find a space.
We had a very comfortable stay and the communication with the host was excellent. Highly recommended, we would definitely go back.

Cottage is well located and an easy walk in to Pickering town centre. There are also a few smaller convenience stores very close buy if you need anything as well as a couple of take aways. Living room was spacious and there is a well equipped kitchen. Was also good having an enclosed garden for the dog which has had some good garden chairs for sitting out when the weather is a little better

Absolutely gorgeous cottage. I've been wanting to visit for a few years and finally did and it didn't disappoint 😁 

Very roomy even with 4 adults and 3 fur babies and what an amazing outdoor space for all. We were able to make the most of it with the lovely weather we had. 

Loved the stable door to the back as brilliant when getting food ready to keep the dogs 🐕 away. 

We will definitely be visiting again and hopefully get to explore more next time.

Just had an amazing stay in Lavender Cottage.

Cottage has everything you could possibly need and more.

The location couldn’t be any better.

Parked our car up and didn’t have to use it again til leaving.

Couple of minutes walk into Pickering.

10 minute walk to the NYM Railway and train to Whitby.

We also visited Helmsley and Thornton Le Dale (Bangers & Cash for the motor enthusiasts).

Fantastic weekend and we will return

lavender cottage is perfectly located for a trip to Pickering and the surrounding area.
We had no problem fining some on street parking within 50 metres.
The cottage is very light and airy.  The fire makes it very cosy In the evening.
The accommodation is comfortable and the garden perfect for dogs as totally secure.
The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and Angela was very easy to communicate with. 

We’d definitely stay hear again.

Fabulous little cottage, a real home from home. Very comfortable & cosy. Communication from owners was great; quick and included all the information you could need. Great location, 3 mins walk to Pickering town centre. I would highly recommend a stay here and look forward to visiting again myself sometime soon.

The location was fantastic for our week on North Yorkshire Moors Railway, The Cottage itself is absolutely wonderful with all the facilities that you need for your break. Can't recommend it enough and will be going back

We stayed at Lavender cottage on 26th August 2022, this is a lovely place which is cosy and quaint & very clean and comfortable. Angela & Rob left us  with lots of thoughtful extra touches that made if feel very homely and I also received a birthday card as it was my  birthday. Angela kept in touch with me from booking until going, we did one of the walks from the brochure, had a lovely barbecue & the kids enjoyed the park near by. The dogs settled very well. I'd give Lavender Cottage a 5 star rating and highly recommend staying here.

What a gorgeous place to stay, cottage was perfect & so well located.  Absolutely spotless & felt like home from home. Went with my mum & dog reactivate, people shy greyhound. Aubrey settled so quick & took everything in her stride, she was comfortable straight away in the cottage. The treats left went down well for Aubrey & me & my mum 😀 Lots do do around the area & pubs & shops dog friendly which always helps, deffo recommend Lavender Cottage & will definitely return in the future 😀

Fantastic cottage, clean, comfortable and everything you will need. Lovely garden too. Really pretty interior, kitchen well equipped, some board games and books available too. A great location in a lovely village with lots of shops nearby. We ventured further to whitby and york and nearby NYMR. Hosts provided lots of information about the cottage and area and left a lovely welcome tray

This was our first stay in Pickering and we were really impressed. A lovely town and a great base to explore North Yorkshire. The cottage was gorgeous and within walking distance of all the shops with a few great takeaways on the doorstep! Really friendly and considerate hosts too. Excellent!

Great experience all round. I was immediately impressed by the customer service, flexibility and assistance that was provided by Angela. It was apparent very early on that she cared about the experience her customers would receive, and would be willing to go the extra mile. The cottage was lovely, warm, comfy and we arrived to a welcome message with tea, biscuits and a bowl of dog treats. Throughout the stay I had a couple of questions and Angela provided information via message almost immediately.

Great cottage with a warm welcome. Clean tidy, charming, lovely gas fire that replicates a log burner. Fully enclosed garden so felt dogs were safe on their own. Would love to stay again in the summer so we could make the more of the garden sitting area. Plenty of eateries within a few steps, corners shop & supermarkets all in 5minutes walk

The cottage was great and a lovely little garden although it was November !! but the dogs enjoyed the outside space. Cottage just as described and true to the photos . Great Location to Pickering town and close to all facilities. Very warm and toasty and a nice gas wood burn effect stove in the living room . Very good communication from Angela the owner I would certainly recommend this to friends and we hope to return again sometime .

Loved Lavender cottage - so cosy and quaint.  Very clean and comfortable with lots of thoughtful extra touches that made if feel very homely. We had to rearrange our dates due to health issues and Angela was extremely helpful in accommodating this and has kept in touch throughout our booking process.  Lots to do in the area - Pickering is only a few minutes walk away with lots of independent shops, a castle and museum which is well worth visiting, steam train to Whitby and so many cafes and restaurants we were spoilt for choice. Would give Lavender Cottage 5 stars and highly recommend staying here.

What a charming cottage , we had a great time. The cottage has all the items you need, lovely garden, cosy lounge, hot shower and room to cook in the kitchen. The location of the property is perfect , a short walk into Pickering and local shops. Not to mention the surrounding area has plenty to offer. We arrived home yesterday from a wonderful week staying in Lavender Cottage. The cottage is cosy, really well-appointed and the welcome package left by the owners meant we felt right at home as soon as we got there. Max was so happy with the dog biscuits!

Location-wise there is so much to do with plenty of fantastic walks straight from the front door and even more places to explore within easy driving distance, or steam train if you fancy a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway! Pickering town centre is also just a few minutes walk away where there are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants to keep you refreshed and refuelled after all your adventures while staying in the cottage.

All in all we 100% recommend a stay at Lavender Cottage, so much so we have already booked to go back there in a few months!

Great short break in this quaint and cosy cottage. Everything you need in the cottage and all amenities catered for in Pickering. Stayed with our 5 dogs which was fantastic as great accommodation is hard to find for this number. Dogs loved the quaint enclosed garden as did we in the lovely weather. Well worth a visit especially with your doggie family.

Back this morning after a great mini break at lavender cottage, exceptionally clean cottage a real home from home well equipped with every thing you may need! 

The cottage is very comfortable and very well thought out and has a lovely enclosed garden which our dogs, Rocco & Daisy really appreciated as well as the welcoming dog treats!
Was a lovely touch to find Angela had left us a newspaper, tea, sugar, milk and biscuits!

Great location with lots of places to visit , highly recommended will definitely be returning Thankyou Angela

Home today from a short break in Lavender Cottage. Lovely comfy clean warm property with a secure back garden which is a must for us.

A poor shower pressure is a particular bugbear of mine but no such problems here as it was fabulous. We only ate breakfast there but the kitchen was well equipped for a longer stay & has everything you would need.

A walk into the town centre is only 10 minutes away with plenty of places to eat & drink.

Very nice touches such as milk & biscuits for ourselves & our dog (Libby says thank you Angela).

We had a lovely stay here over the bank holiday weekend. The cottage is well placed to access the forest, beaches and York, along with other cute villages in the area. We were lucky to get around loads and even made it to a food festival in another town nearby. My dog enjoyed having a safe garden to mooch in and we took our breakfast out in the sun which luckily made an appearance. Would return for sure :)

Recently back from our week holiday at lavender cottage and had a wonderful time, cottage was everything we could of wished for and in a great location, on arrival the cottage was clean, cosy and very atmospheric fitting in with the area with a beautiful secure enclosed garden for us and our pooch to enjoy, parking on the road outside was plentiful even in august and the town with all its restaurants/ pubs/take-always was a couple of minutes walk, all in all we had a great holiday in this beautiful area and when visiting again would not hesitate to stay at lavender cottage, in fact it will be my first choice!! Beautiful little cottage in a fabulous location. We have had a wonderful few days exploring the local area, enjoying some fish and chips and taking in the stunning scenery. 

The cottage is very clean and comfortable and has a lovely garden to sit in whilst drinking your g&t’s relaxing at the end of a busy day exploring. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we will definitely be back.

We have just enjoyed a few days here for Christmas and loved it.  The cottage is very quaint and cosy and within easy reach of amenities and some fantastic dog walks.  The layout of downstairs particularly worked for us with an enclosed garden and separate utility for all our dog kit,  it just made life so much easier in the winter months.  

Our 15 month Vizsla was constantly sprawled out in front of the fire every night.  

Lovely touches like a newspaper, milk and treats for our dog we're a welcome surprise too!

We have definitely found our little Yorkshire bolthole for when we next visit family.  Thank you again!!

Lavender Cottage is a beautiful, well presented cottage with all you need to hand. The garden is dog safe and very pretty, liked by Poppy ( our little beagle ) and us. 

The beds are lovely and extremely comfortable. 

The cottage is situated in a tree lined road with a chip shop and co-op approx 200yrds away, we utilised both. Pickering town is the other way but easy to walk to, the Black Swan is dog friendly with delicious food. 

As Pickering is central to areas of interest in Yorkshire, Lavender House is perfect.

A lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and with everything you need. We have just stayed for 2 weeks with our Labradoodle who was delighted with his treats! A very secure back garden with rear entrance which was really useful as our dog is a mud magnet! Lots of places to eat locally and a great base for exploring. Everywhere we went was dog friendly. Fully recommend Lavender Cottage.

Beautiful cottage located extremely close to the centre of Pickering. The cottage is spotlessly clean and literally has everything you could wish for. The bedding deserves a mention, so comfy and welcoming - I even sneakily took a picture of the pillow protectors and ordered some online straight away! The garden is fantastic is you have a dog, totally secure with a lovely gazebo with table, chairs and BBQ. A lovely relaxing cottage overall and i definitely give this full marks

Lavender Cottage was the perfect place for a break with our daughters and dog. Angela has created a beautiful home from home with so many thoughtful touches. The cottage is in a great position. A short walk to Pickering centre which has a great choice of restaurants and cafes that are dog friendly and close to great beaches. We look forward to returning soon.
